R<\/strong>amiro Meneses\u2019s photography is born from an act that, today, seems extraordinary: to stop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I<\/strong>n a time dominated by the speed of images and the immediate consumption of reality, his work proposes the opposite exercise: slowing down the gaze to discover that the vastest universe may dwell within just a few millimeters of a petal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A<\/strong>lthough widely recognized for his career as an actor and as a figure of Colombian culture, Meneses has simultaneously developed a rigorous and profoundly sensitive photographic investigation, in which his approach to nature transcends botanical or documentary interest to enter the realm of artistic practice; observation becomes a form of contemplation, and in the camera he finds an instrument capable of revealing what the everyday eye can barely begin to perceive\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

M<\/strong>acro photography lies at the core of this investigation. Through it, flowers cease to be merely flowers; they become territories, organic architectures, geological formations, chromatic constellations, and surfaces where matter seems to invent its own laws. Scale disappears, and with it, the viewer\u2019s certainties also begin to dissolve. The infinitely small enters into dialogue with the immeasurably vast, generating images that oscillate between representation and abstraction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

E<\/strong>ach photograph proposes a distinct perceptual experience: the folds of a petal evoke mountains eroded by time; plant veins recall impossible cartographies; stamens become sculptural structures; and transitions of color acquire the depth of an atmospheric landscape. Nature ceases to be an object under observation and becomes an immersive experience in which light, texture, and form construct a language of their own. In this sense, Meneses\u2019s work engages with one of the fundamental questions of contemporary photography: what does it truly mean to see?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

H<\/strong>is images do not seek to describe the world, but rather to expand the possibilities through which it may be interpreted. Where the eye identifies a flower, the camera discovers entire universes; where we believe we recognize a familiar form, a composition emerges that draws close to Abstract Expressionism, Art Informel, or even the imagery produced through scientific exploration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

S<\/strong>cience, art, and contemplation converge within a single visual territory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

T<\/strong>he artist himself has described his relationship with flowers as an experience of constant seduction. Walking, observing, stopping, and losing himself in detail becomes a daily ritual in which every encounter with nature offers the possibility of wonder. His photographs are the result of this intimate engagement with the botanical world; they do not seek to appropriate nature, but to enter into dialogue with it through patience, respect, and admiration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

M<\/strong>ore than documenting the ephemeral beauty of flowers, Ramiro reveals the extraordinary complexity dwelling within what ordinarily goes unnoticed. His work reminds us that photography can still be an act of discovery, and that to observe with genuine attention remains one of the most profound forms of knowledge\u2014through a shutter released with purpose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I<\/strong>n an age when millions of images circulate every day without truly pausing upon anything, this body of work reclaims the value of detail, inviting us to understand that nature does not need to be spectacular in order to be infinite. One need only draw close enough to discover that, within a single petal, an entire landscape exists, waiting simply to be seen\u2026<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
